Entry Level Marine Technician
Description
We have an immediate need for an entry-level Marine Technician with good mechanical aptitude and a sincere interest in a career in the marine/outboard engine industry. Certifications, experience with marine engines/boat systems/DC electrical a plus. Must be self-motivated, punctual, able to meet deadlines, and ready to work and grow with our great team. The position is full-time with an excellent benefits package. Wage is based on experience, with the expectation of growth through experience, training, and industry certifications. Position Details
Job Status: Full Time
Career Level: 1-2 years of hands-on mechanical experience
Minimum Degree: High School or equivalent
Pay Type: Hourly Wage - $16-20/hour based on experience and performance
Requirements & Responsibilities
- Eventually responsible for diagnosing, estimating, requesting parts, performing routine maintenance and repairs, and completing repair order tasks, including paperwork within the appropriate timeframe or estimated time.
- Follow direction and retain knowledge of skills needed to complete tasks required to complete the job
- Perform all services right the first time
- Maintain work order notes and sign out parts to our computer-based system
- Have or be willing to acquire a basic set of tools upon hire
- A willingness to assist with any required tasks in the boatyard
- Ability to work occasional overtime and weekends in season on a rotational basis with the team
- Work with the service writer and manager to ensure work is on time and is done correctly
- Suggest additional work that a boat/engine might need
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all dealership personnel
- Maintain dealership equipment to ensure proper working order
- Follow safety rules and regulations
- Keep work area neat, clean and organized
- Keep up-to-date on the latest technical information
- Take pride in your work and your appearance
- Maintain a high attention to detail

Marine Technician

Human Resource Specialist
Position Details
Job Status: Full-time
Career Level: 3+ years of experience
Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or related field
Department: Administration department
Supervisor: General Manager of Operations with direct report to Owner
FLSA Status: Exempt
Pay Type: Salaried position - compensation based on experience and performance.
Available Benefits: Health/dental/vision insurance, 401K (after 1 year of service and 1000 hours worked), long & short-term disability insurance, continued career training and support.
Duties
-Oversee all HR initiatives and systems while anticipating, identifying, and resolving litigation risks.
-Responsible for implementing, enforcing, and administering federal and state employment regulations as well as Marina Holdings policies and procedures.
-Ensure accurate and written job descriptions with clear job accountabilities and reporting structures.
-Act as Benefit Administrator for all employee group benefit plans, to include health care programs, 401k, life insurance, disability insurance, leave management and benefits.
-Responsible for managing leaves of absences, accommodations, and workers’ compensation.
-Handling record-keeping responsibilities for employee incidents, injury logs, and workers’ compensation.
-Create, maintain, and update confidential employee files.
-Facilitate the hiring process, conducting background/reference checks.
-Facilitate onboarding through our HRIS (Paylocity) consisting of tax documents, emergency contact information, I-9 form with appropriate documentation, and new employee training.
-Enter all new hire employee data and termination paperwork.
-Maintain attendance and vacation tracking.
-Facilitate performance management and assist with related issues as needed
-Assist in revising/developing policies and procedures and company handbook revisions.
-Act as liaison to Insurance/Benefits Brokers/Carriers, provide recommendations to senior management, and oversee implementation
-Help ensure safety programs meet regulations and guidelines. Support OSHA safety compliance including scheduling mandatory training, maintaining safety records, and completing annual reporting.
-Ensure that Marina Holding is meeting requirements on posted information and materials, acquiring updates as needed.
-Maintain employee training log.
-Other office duties as assigned that may or may not be HR related.
Requirements
-Three (3) or more year of experience working in a Human Resources department or related experience.
-Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related area.
-Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment regulations.
-Must have excellent interpersonal skills and exceptional verbal and written communication competency.
-Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
-Maintain professional working relationships with all employees, associates, vendors, etc.
-Maintain confidentiality with all private/personal information.
-Must understand and follow company policies and procedures with a high attention to detail.
-Must be flexible in adjusting to new or changing situations.
-Ability to function in the established team environment and respond effectively in emergency situations.
-Background check required.
